New Phone & Paging System, & Network Upgrade On Track For Summer

We are currently working on replacing our aging phone system with a new, Cisco Voice-Over-IP phone system throughout the district. Our existing phones will be replaced with new Cisco IP phones, and every classroom will have a phone as well. This helps with classroom and building security, and is a welcomed addition to our district.

Along with the new phones, every classroom is also receiving new, networked clocks and speakers, which will be used for announcements and paging alerts. This also contributes to enhanced security throughout the district.

To support the new phone and paging systems, our core network will also be upgraded, replacing network switches dating back to 1998 with new, faster and more powerful switches. A wireless network upgrade will also be taking place at our elementary and primary schools. The Intermediate and High School had their wireless networks upgraded last year.

The projected is expected to be completed by the end of Summer, so disruption to classroom activity will be minimized. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
