It was a Sweet September

We have had a wonderful start to the school year.   Class routines have been mastered: backpacks are put in cubbies upon arrival, choice activities are selected, everyone joins the group on the carpet for opening activities to learn the names of classmates, check the calendar and the weather, and  engage in a story . The children can now rotate through learning centers. Most importantly, they have learned that they are happy and secure here at school, that they can play and learn with new friends, and that each day brings new ideas and experiences to explore.

We appreciated meeting so many of you on Back to School Night.  Thank you for all the communication that is coming in to the teachers.  It helps us to understand more about your child, and strengthen the home-school connection as we partner for your child’s early education.  Finally, I want to share this link about early literacy activities that discuss some strategies that are used at school and that you may want to try at home. www.greatschools.org/gk/articles/what-to-expect-at-preschool-literacy
